EcoProfit Webinar with Winton Evers

Webinar Recap: Tracing Hemp’s Carbon Journey with Eco Profit’s Winton (29 November)

On 29 November, iHemp NSW hosted an insightful webinar with Winton from Eco Profit, led by our chair Colin Steddy. The session explored one of the most important emerging themes in the hemp industry: carbon traceability from paddock to end product.

Winton introduced Eco Profit’s proposed carbon tracking platform, designed to map and verify the carbon footprint of key bio-based materials — including industrial hemp. This platform aims to follow hemp through every stage of its lifecycle: cultivation, processing, manufacturing, and final use in products such as hempcrete, biocomposites, textiles, and more.

For growers, processors, and builders, this represents an exciting step forward. Hemp’s carbon performance is one of its strongest advantages, and credible lifecycle data will help the industry:

  • Quantify true carbon sequestration
  • Strengthen ESG reporting
  • Build confidence with investors
  • Support claims for carbon-positive building materials
  • Improve transparency across the entire supply chain

Winton also highlighted how Eco Profit’s broader mission — aligning ecological health with financial sustainability — positions hemp as a standout material in Australia’s transition to a low-carbon, circular economy.

A big thank-you to Winton for sharing his expertise, and to Colin Steddy for hosting the discussion.

iHemp NSW will continue to bring the industry together through education, advocacy, and practical insights that move hemp forward in Australia.
