A cross-continental conversation on hemp fibre, straight from Poland to Australia
Following a successful fibre networking and cross-training trip to Poland, iHemp NSW Executive Officer Colin Steddy is bringing the conversation home. On Tuesday, 18 August, 7pm, Colin Steddy hosts a hemp fibre chat with Witold Czeszak, one of Europe’s most experienced voices in industrial hemp commercialisation, in a free, public webinar open to anyone with an interest in the hemp industry.
Who is Witold Czeszak?
Witold is an economist and co-founder of the Polish Hemp Program, based at the Institute of Natural Fibres and Medicinal Plants. He currently heads Lenkon, Poland’s largest hemp and flax processing facility, producing fibre, hurd, twine, mat, and sliver at scale. His career spans over two decades of building value chains for industrial hemp, from R&D and seed certification through to worldwide sales networks across Europe, North and South America, Africa, and Australia.

Who is Colin Steddy?
Colin brings a grower’s grounding to the conversation. Raised on a Western Australian farm, he cropped 3,000 hectares before moving into hemp in 2005. Since then he’s worked across the full supply chain (seed importing, grain harvesting, milling, and decorticator trials) and is a founding director of Hemp Inside, based in Vacy, Hunter Valley.
Why it matters
This session offers a rare chance to hear directly from someone operating one of Europe’s largest hemp processing facilities, paired with an Australian grower’s on-ground perspective. For anyone in fibre production, processing, or supply chain development, it’s a practical look at how hemp fibre industries scale internationally, and what lessons might translate locally.
