Ashford Hemp Industries (Business Member)

Ashford Hemp Industries (AHI) designs and builds purpose-built hemp processing machinery that enables individuals, farmers, and regional communities to unlock the full economic and environmental value of industrial hemp. By addressing one of the sector’s biggest bottlenecks, access to local, scalable processing, AHI plays a critical role in supporting the growth of Australia’s hemp industry and meeting rising demand for hemp-based products now and into the future.

Founded in Northern NSW, Ashford Hemp Industries is a family-owned and operated business led by Leon and Connie Minos. After decades working for others and witnessing the gradual decline of opportunities in their local community, they set out to build something different, a business grounded in regional employment, sustainability, and long-term resilience. Leon brings extensive experience in farming and machinery operation, while Connie contributes deep expertise in project and service management, creating a well-balanced and highly capable partnership.

Driven by a shared commitment to health, sustainability, and regenerative industries, Leon and Connie recognised early on that limited processing infrastructure was holding the hemp sector back. In response, they embarked on more than a decade of research, learning, and hands-on development, culminating in the Ashford Hemp Processor (AHP) — a robust, locally designed and built processing unit developed and manufactured in their home town.

Today, AHI employs skilled local staff, partners with regional businesses, and delivers quality-controlled machinery solutions across Australia and internationally. Their broader vision is to establish a scalable, replicable processing model that empowers communities worldwide to participate in the economic, social, and environmental opportunities offered by industrial hemp.
